Community Mural
A Heartfelt Thank You for Bringing The Walls to Life At Centre Meredith!
We are filled with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible community support and generous grant from the MRC des Collines that helped bring the walls of Centre Meredith to life. This exciting mural project began with a special grant proposal written by local Chelsea resident, Alisha Reilly-Roe. Together with Stephanie Babij these talented artists took this opportunity to transform our space into a vibrant showcase of community spirit and creativity.
The journey started with engaging our community. We conducted a survey to capture the essence of Chelsea’s natural beauty as seen through the eyes of our residents. Alisha and Stephanie used this invaluable feedback to guide their creative process, ensuring the mural would reflect the unique landscape and spirit of Chelsea.
The mural-making process was truly a community effort. Over a two-week period, we welcomed community members, local groups, and participants from Centre Meredith's day camps to join in the painting. It was heartwarming to see the collaboration and joy as everyone came together to add their unique touch to this masterpiece.
Once completed, the Municipality of Chelsea’s public works team stepped in to assist us in securely mounting the mural, and the artists returned to add their final, special touches. The finished mural was unveiled at a special celebration on Tuesday, October 22nd. We were honored to have representatives from the MRC des Collines, members of the Chelsea Council, Fondation Chelsea board members, and many of our community members in attendance to commemorate this beautiful addition to Centre Meredith.
We extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this project a reality—from the MRC des Collines for their generous grant to Alisha and Stephanie for their vision and artistry, and to every community member who lent their support. This mural is a testament to the strength and creativity of our community, and we invite you all to visit and enjoy this stunning piece of art at Centre Meredith.
Thank you for helping us bring this vision to life!
